Coins of
Time
Welcome to Coins of Time where you can take a view of the
world from 2,000 years ago. I am Andrew McIntyre and
I own
and
operate this online store. My Terms
of Sale should answer most of your
questions. If you have any remaining questions then e-mail
me at andrew@coinsoftime.com
Now, here's a little history about myself. I live in Florida
but I grew up in Europe where I lived in several countries.
In my late teens, I spent my summers in Greece where my love
of the classical world was nurtured. I have a Bachelor of
Arts in History (European) from Ohio State University (yes,
I was a Buckeye). I publish articles online and in print on
ancient coins, but my principal area of study are coins in
the name of Alexander the Great. I am currently undertaking
an extensive die study of the Alexander tetradrachms of Lycia
& Pamphylia.
My store mostly covers Ancient Greece and Rome. My focus
with Greek coins is mainly in the area of Alexanders. The
Roman coins cover most of the Imperial Era and I am currently
developing a high quality line of ancient coin jewelry.I guarantee
the authenicity of all the coins sold by Coins of Time. Most
of the coins are purchased from world auctions, other dealers,
or from private collections. Reference books are your most
important friend to understanding and verifying the coins
you are buying. While some unique coins do appear now and
then, most ancient coins have been published in catalogs or
reference materials written by scholars and museums. Most
dealers should be able to give some reference for the coin
they are selling.
